Year :  2020-2021

This is the first game I had to work on as an intern at Abiding Bridge. My tasks mainly concerned Level Design.

I arrived when there was a big restructuring of the game, including a complete change in the narration and a lot of changes and reorganization to make in the Level Design.

Once I was taught how to use the different tools as well as the philosophy of Level Design, I was first tasked with analyzing all the levels in order to reveal the game's difficulty curve (1st photo in the gallery), to better organize the levels later in relation to the desired difficulty curve and the Level Design bricks used in each level. (2nd photo)

I then took into account the feedback from playtests carried out previously to change the levels one by one. (3rd photo)

I also had to design from start to finish all the narrative levels (10 in total) that went along with the new narration. (2nd video) So I had to collaborate with the Narrative Designer to place the different levels at different moments of the game so that they were consistent in terms of narration but also in terms of game mechanics.

I also learned the method and then carried out 3 playtest sessions of the game (4th photo), most often remotely using Discord with its screen sharing in order to collect player feedback on the new narration and Level Design changes, then take these returns into account to change the levels accordingly.

Finally, when the new narration was complete, I had to do the entire localization of the game, translating all the narration from English to French. (5th photo)

Overall this internship and the work I did on this game went very well and I learned a lot, with a team that listened to feedback and with whom the collaboration was pleasant and efficient.
